MEASURE “V” PROTECTS OUR CITIZENS AND POLICE
Measure V is a critical funding mechanism for Ridgecrest, ensuring that our police department and essential city services are properly supported. As a continuation of the existing 1% sales tax, Measure V directly contributes to public safety by funding 43% of the Ridgecrest Police Department's budget. This allows our officers to respond swiftly to emergencies, conduct thorough investigations, and maintain a visible presence in our community.
While Measure P was instrumental in funding broader community projects, including the future of a community pool, Measure V is specifically dedicated to maintaining the safety and infrastructure that residents rely on every day. The funds generated by Measure V are essential for keeping our streets safe, our roads maintained, and our community secure.
City Council members, including Mayor Bruen, Councilmembers Hayman, Miller, and Gorman, have all publicly voiced their support for Measure V, recognizing its vital role in protecting our community. Their continued commitment ensures that the funds from Measure V will be used effectively to enhance public safety and improve Ridgecrest's quality of life.
Passage of Measure V is not just about maintaining current services—it's about safeguarding the future of Ridgecrest. By voting YES on Measure V, you are voting to keep our police force strong, our roads safe, and our community protected.
